1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. “AWARD-WINNING CUSTOM” / “SHOW CAR”
To succeed in achieving an award-winning result with such an extensive construction project—where everything is new, renovated, or remodeled—there must be… an enormous drive, determination, passion, an immense amount of expertise, and a keen instinct that really makes a difference!
In addition, it requires a great deal of self-discipline, determination, drive, and a large network of knowledgeable people around you—and, not least of all, a sound financial foundation, because it certainly isn’t free— so we tip our hats and congratulate the builder on the fantastic result of this custom project!
We believe this project encompasses all of the above and then some; tremendous effort and an unimaginable number of hours have yielded an incredible result, earning top honors at many professional events such as Powermeet, Summermeet, the Oslo Motor Show, Finnkampen / Classic Car Parade, Elmia, etc.—and, of course, awards from all other major and minor shows!
Nothing here has been left to chance. Everything has been completely remodeled, is brand-new, or has been beautifully renovated!
Factory-new 430 hk LS3 with a new 4L70E automatic transmission. New Ford 9″ rear axle with limited-slip differential. Modified cross-member. C-notch for the rear axle. Heavy-duty anti-roll bars front and rear. Adjustable struts from Ridetech and dual upper control arms. Boxed control arms. Modified control arms for better angles. Borgeson steering rack. Digital 4-way air suspension. Drilled & slotted front and rear brake rotors from a Corvette. 15″ Corvette steel wheels with 14″ spinner caps and 15″ hubcaps. Whitewall tires. Dakota Digital gauges. Body lowered 5 cm over the frame (channelled), which makes it possible to lay the car flat on the ground. Exhaust pipes routed through the body, and everything is properly documented in the registration certificate—so you don’t have to worry about being pulled over by the police, nor will the insurance company have any grounds for complaint!
A custom-mixed version of the original “Crown Sapphire” and white metallic paint, with a matching interior in the original style and a white canopy—absolutely gorgeous!
Power steering. Power brakes. Continental kit. 4 power windows. Power vent windows. Power sofa. Power trunk. Cruiser skirts. Bumper guard. Autronic-eye. Dual Appleton spotlights. Dual antennas. Door handle scratch guards. Tissue holder. Level-Air emblem. Paint dividers. AC vents. Reverse lights. Day & night rearview mirror. Dual exterior mirrors. Green-tinted windows. Hidden premium audio system with DSP stereo and 9 speakers.
The car is, of course, in pristine show-car condition and is just as beautiful and well-crafted no matter where you look; the undercarriage is magical, and to truly appreciate the full extent of it all, the car must be seen and experienced in person!
However, this isn’t for anyone looking for a strictly original car; this one was built exactly as the owner wanted it, so it’s not a genuine original.
The car has been showcased many times at car shows and has won tons of great trophies in Sweden, Norway, and Finland; there’s no one who sees it without reacting—that much is certain!
