(Reserved)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1950 Mercury Eight Sport Sedan, 4-door!<br \/>\nA very rare car in incredibly fine condition.<br \/>\nOne of the few remaining in its original configuration.<br \/>\nNot a convertible or a cut-down model like many 1949\u20131951 Mercurys.<br \/>\nMercury was, after all, Ford\u2019s flagship model, and this one is equipped with a 4.2-liter Ford Flathead V8; it runs like a dream with its 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and is a fantastic joy to drive!<br \/>\nDual exhaust system. Radial tires with wide white sidewalls. Stainless steel \u201cgangster cap\u201d from Comet Skyshield that gives the car a really cool look!<br \/>\nEverything works, including the gauges, heater, fan, and interior lighting.<br \/>\nThe car has recently been serviced with oil, filters, etc&#8230;<br \/>\nThe Mercury Eight is best known from the Hollywood film *Rebel Without a Cause*, where it was driven by James Dean. It has become a cult favorite among car enthusiasts and collectors. This model was the most important in the company\u2019s history.<br \/>\nAll Mercury bodies were shared with Lincoln rather than with Ford, as had been the case since 1941.
