Cadillac V16 All Weather Phaeton Convertible Sedan 1930
This car has been completely and meticulously restored to the absolute highest standard by Hans Emeren, former owner of the renowned restoration company AutoCraft in Vikarbyn Dalarna – a world-leading restoration company of the highest class.
Hans was invited to showcase his Cadillac V16 at Pebble Beach in California in 2023, which is a great honor in itself. The car was awarded the BEST CLASSIC CAR 2023, with the award presented by the Classic Car of America. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is one of the world’s most prestigious automotive events, and to receive an award there is extremely rare. This is also the only Swedish-restored vehicle to ever receive an award at this event.
The car has been restored to the smallest screw and repainted exactly according to the original order – Mulberry Maroon and black. The leather interior is also in Mulberry Maroon.
We think the pictures, Hans Emeren’s restoration reputation and the Pebble Beach award speak for themselves when it comes to the condition of the car.
During the roaring 1920s, Cadillac was in fierce competition with its main rival, Packard, both in terms of sales and prestige. At a time when the economy seemed to know no bounds, luxury cars were getting bigger and heavier, while customers demanded engines that were both quiet and smooth. To meet these demands, greater displacement was needed, and to keep the moving parts of the engines compact and light, the volume needed to be distributed over more cylinders. Cadillac therefore began developing its new sixteen-cylinder flagship model as early as 1927. By the time the car was unveiled at the New York Auto Show in January 1930 – just months after the Wall Street crash – the economic climate had changed dramatically. As a result, only 250 copies of the V16 All Weather Phaeton from Fleetwood were sold. It is estimated that around 25 of these cars remain today, and very few have been restored to the exceptional condition of this example.
